Cooling system

Danger:

Draining hot coolant involves a risk of scalding.

Draining the cooling system

Caution:

Drain coolant into a suitable con-
tainer and dispose of it in accor-
dance with regulations.

Drain coolant as follows, but only

when

the engine has cooled down:

Briefly open cap

(large cap) on the

filler neck of the expansion tank for
pressure compensation

Remove drain screws in exhaust mani-
fold

, oil cooler housing

, coolant

pipe

and crankcase

Then remove cap

Drain coolant into a container of ade-
quate size

Refit screw plugs

Filling / bleeding the cooling system
