Always sit upright with the seat back in an upright position,
on the seat cushion centre with your seat belt on, legs
comfortably extended and your feet on the floor
•
If the back rest is inclined too much, then under severe
deaccelration the person can slide under the belt, and
negating the safety of the seat belt
•
All vehicle occupants must be properly restrained using the
seat belts
•
All infants and children must be placed in child restraint seat
as defined locations (Sec 5.8)
•
Front airbags can injure occupants improperly positioned in
the front seats
•
Even
with
airbags,
improperly
belted
and
un-belted
occupants can be severely injured when the airbag inflates.
Always follow the precautions about seat belts, airbags and
occupant safety contained in this manual
•
Do not modify the front seats. Modification of the front seats
can interfere with the operation of the supplemental
restraint system or side impact airbags
•
Do not place items under the front seats. Placing items
under the front seats could interfere with the operation of
the supplemental restraint system sensing components and
wiring harnesses
