Safety Instructions
DANGER
•
Danger of burns on hot exhaust probe! Only hold the probe with the handle
specifically intended for this purpose!
•
Danger of carbon monoxide poisoning from vehicle exhaust fumes! The oper-
ator must ensure that any exhaust emission tests are only performed in spac-
es with adequate exhaust gas extraction and ventilation.
•
The same applies to the exhaust fumes sample removed for the exhaust
emission test. The operator must ensure that this partial exhaust flow is also
fed to the extraction system.
•
Electric shock hazard! Do not use the heated probe and its power supply unit
if the cable insulation, the plug or the casing of the power supply unit are
damaged.
•
When vehicles are being worked on, the safety regulations of the particular
vehicle manufacturer must be observed.

Important User Information
NOTICE
•
Perform servicing on the unit. The information needed for servicing can be
found in the section entitled ‘Servicing’.
•
Ensure that none of the unit’s gas outlets are obstructed and that the catch
tank for condensate is connected.
•
Ensure that no liquids or other impurities are ever drawn in across the probe.
•
The unit continues for 60 s after the measurement to remove damp exhaust
gas. The unit must only be switched off beforehand in exceptional circum-
stances.
•
Do not operate the unit in direct sunlight, when it is raining or snowing or in an
atmosphere that is corrosive or contaminated with petrol vapours.
•
Do not use the unit in the vicinity of strong electromagnetic sources such as
welding devices, large electric motors or frequency converters.
•
If the unit does not display any measurement values during measurement,
check that the probe tubing is not buckled and filter F1 or F2 is not blocked.
