Example 2: Installation when a stop surface of the scale and the sensor head is not made with
the bracket.
1. Adjust the parallelism of the scale bracket and sensor head bracket with respect to the machine guide,
and then secure in place.
Adjust the height and parallelism of the sensor head bracket with respect to the scale bracket, and then
secure in place.

2. Check the label attached to the scale to confi rm the sensor head cable extension direction and make
sure that the serial No. matches that of the sensor head. (See Fig. 3-6.)
3. Remove the label. (See Fig. 3-7.)
4. Adjust the parallelism with respect to the machine guide while measuring surface A with a dial gauge,
and tighten the set screws.
<Measurement method>
Measure near the positions at both ends of the eff ective length on surface A.
