Fifth wheel coupling

The fifth wheel coupling of the MT can, in case of emergency,
also be unhitched without running motor and without electricity
using the emergency hitch release.
The emergency hitch release is located to the left of the fifth
wheel coupling.

Set the trailer down on its supports.
X Secure the trailer against rolling away.
X
Disconnect all electrical and brake lines,
see “Working with coupling equipment” on page 108 .
X
Relieve the fifth wheel coupling or the king-pin.
The MT needs to be pushed back slightly against
the king-pin by another vehicle.
X Open the fifth wheel coupling at the emergency hitch
release.
X Drive or tow the MT forwards.
