3. Connection of 230 V model (CE....P)
Connect the radiator’s cable to a suitable wall socket outlet,
using the earthed plug already fi tted to the cable.
Alternatively, the radiator can be connected to the supply
by removing the plug and hard-wiring the cable to a suitable
outlet box, preferably positioned behind the radiator.
The distance between the back of the radiator and the wall is
50 mm. Make sure that the outlet box does not touch the back
of the radiator.
Suitable outlet boxes are E 1437600 and E 1437700 etc.
Connect the 3-core cable as follows:
Brown wire
= Line
Blue wire
= Neutral
Green/yellow wire = Earth
Alternatively, a suitable plug-in type connection box can be
supplied by LVI (part no. 4210401).
Connect the 3-core cable to the plug-in connector as follows:
Brown wire
= Terminal 1
Blue wire
= Terminal 2
Green/yellow wire = Earth terminal
Connect the supply to the terminal strip in the fi xed part of the
connector as follows:
Terminal 1
= Line
Terminal 2
= Neutral
Earth terminal = Earth
Instructions for use
Turn the radiator on by turning the switch to
I
.
Set the required temperature on the thermostat. Turning it
clockwise raises the temperature.
The radiator incorporates an overheating protection device
that turns off the current if the radiator becomes too hot.
Reset it by turning off the main switch and allowing the
radiator to cool for about 15 minutes.
If the device operates repeatedly, make sure that no parts of
the radiator are covered. If the fault persists, contact the
supplier. If, when used freestanding, the radiator is knocked
over and left in this position, another safety device will operate
and turn off the current. However, it cannot be reset by the
user, but must be replaced. Contact your supplier.
General care
Use only mild cleaners when cleaning or dusting the radiator.
Miscellaneous
The label ‘Do not cover’ means that the radiator must not be
used for drying clothes etc. by hanging them directly on the
radiator. The radiator is fi lled with a precise quantity of special
oil, which means that any repairs that involve opening it must
be done only by the manufacturer or authorised service
representatives. Any leaks must be repaired by the manufacturer
or an authorised service representative. A locking device for
securing the mounting brackets is available as an accessory.
If the supply cable to the radiator is damaged, it must be replaced
only by a special cable, available from the manufacturer or
authorised service representatives. The cable for Type CE
radiators has LVI part no. 641 0101, while that for Type CE....P
radiators (with an earthed plug) has LVI part no. 642 0201.
Guarantee
The radiator is guaranteed against defects for a period of two
years. Please contact your supplier in the event of any
problems or need for repairs.
CE
= Radiators for wall mounting. With electronic
thermostat. Supplied with 3-core cable, wall
mounting brackets and screws. For 400V supply.
Enclosure class IP 21 .
CE...P
= Radiators for wall mounting or freestanding
positioning. With electronic thermostat.
Supplied with 3-core cable and fi tted earthed
plug, wall mounting brackets, screws and feet.
For 230V supply. Enclosure class IP 21 .
Installation
1. Fitting
Fit the brackets to the wall, using the screws supplied.
Position the brackets about 100-150 mm from each end of
the radiator.
Use a bracket to determine the correct fi tting height, as
shown in Figure 1. Do not fi t the radiator closer to the fl oor,
side wall or window sill than as shown in Figure 2.
The distance between the fl oor and the bottom mounting
hole as shown in Figure 3 gives a distance of 100 mm between
the fl oor and the bottom edge of the radiator. It is important for correct
operation of the radiator that it is mounted vertically.
The upper part of the wall bracket can be pulled up and
locked in this position to assist hanging the radiator (see
Figure 4). When securing the radiator to the bracket, make
sure that the upper part of the bracket securely grips the edge
of the radiator in order to prevent it from tipping forwards.
The model CE....P radiator can alternatively be fi tted with feet
for freestanding use.
Fit the feet supplied with the radiator by pressing them on to
the radiator, as shown in Figure 5.
The thermostat can either be fi tted to the left or right of the
radiator, but ensure it is placed at the base (closest to the fl oor).
Do not position the radiator directly beneath a fi xed socket
outlet or in the immediate vicinity of a bath, shower or
swimming pool.
2. Connection of 400 V model (CE)
Connect the radiator’s 3-core cable to a suitable outlet box,
preferably positioned behind the radiator. The distance
between the back of the radiator and the wall is 50 mm.
Make sure that the outlet box does not touch the back of the
radiator.
Suitable outlet boxes are E 1437600 and E 1437700 etc.
Connect the 3-core cable as follows:
Brown wire
= Phase 1
Blue wire
= Phase 2
Green/yellow wire = Earth
