1.8 Additional safety instructions for special situations
1.8.1 Safety instructions when aligning the optical path
When cleaning and re-aligning the mirrors of the machine‟s optical path the following
additional guidelines should be respected.
WARNING
Caution: during the aligning process the machine behaves like
laser class 4 (take all necessary precautions).

A maximum of two authorized people may be in the vicinity of the machine.

Make sure that the protective bellows or protective tubing is not removed for an
unnecessarily long time.

If necessary, shut down a part of the optical path after it has been checked and aligned.

Do not forget to remove the aligning equipment after aligning the optical path.

Make sure that the alignment of the mirrors remains stable (locking screws, etc.).

The alignment should be performed at low power and / or in pulse mode and with a
short cycle time.

Always wear laser safety glasses during alignment (see paragraph 1.3).

Make sure that before and during execution of the aligning program no obstacles or
people are in the optical path.

For the operations to the optical path the shutter must be locked (see “SHUT LOCK
and “BEAM LOCK” keys). The axes must also be locked at the same time (see
“MACH LOCK” and “speed override” key.

Set out the necessary warning signs.
WARNING
After installation, maintenance or repair of the machines all
protective devices and safety features must be correctly connected
and operational and their operation checked. See the manuals of both
the laser cutting machine and the automatic start and stop module.
1.8.2 Additional instructions
Regardless of all use and maintenance instructions and the accident prevention rules that are
laid down for the country in which the machine is located and operational, the specific safety
provisions for the job and the qualifications of the staff should also be considered.
