Introduction

WaveLAN/EC-S User’s Guide

NOTE:

The WaveMANAGER/EC program is not capable of
accessing remote WaveLAN/EC devices located “beyond”
a router or gateway.

For initial configuration, you are advised to connect the units
directly to the Ethernet 10Base-T port of a computer that runs the
Microsoft Windows 95/98 or Windows NT (v4.0) operating system.

If your computer runs another operating system, please consult
Chapter 4, which describes how to configure the device using the
built-in configuration program of the WaveLAN/EC-S device.

For devices connected via the serial port, you should use the “Main
Menu”, as described in “Running the Built-in Configurator” on page
4-10.

Install the WaveMANAGER/EC Program

To install the WaveMANAGER/EC program, do the following:

1.

Insert the disk labelled “WaveMANAGER/EC Installation Disk”.

If you downloaded the software from the WaveLAN website,
please refer to the installation instructions found on the
website.

2.

Click the

button on the Windows Task bar.

3.

Select “Run” and type the path to the installation program.

Example:

A:\setup.exe

Alternatively click the “Browse” button, navigate to the disk
drive and directory that contains the WaveLAN/EC software,
and double-click the “

setup.exe

” program.

4.

Click OK to confirm and start the WaveMANAGER/EC
installation.

5.

Follow the instructions as they are displayed on your screen.
