Administering a printer

Overview

Use these steps to assign a name, description, and some options to a
printer. The printer is then known by

CentreVu

CMS and can be used

by terminals for printing

CentreVu

CMS reports or windows. For

CentreVu

Supervisor users, the printer is directly connected to your

PC or available to you via your LAN.

Prerequisites

•

Before you can add or change the name for a printer that is used as
a

CentreVu

CMS printer, you must administer it in the Solaris

system. If you have a Sun platform, see

Terminals, Printers, and

Modems 585-215-874

, for guidelines and procedures for

printer installation.

•

The

CentreVu

CMS printer name must be unique when you add a

new printer, but the same physical printer can have multiple names
and options.
