Upgrading Windows 2000 to Windows XP or .NET



WARNING

In order to avoid a system failure, GAM cannot be
installed. If GAM is present on your system from a
previous installation, uninstall GAM components
before you begin the Windows XP or .NET
upgrade.

This upgrade requires that your Windows 2000 contains Service Pack 2 or
higher. Please refer to your Microsoft documentation for additional
information.

Please study the options below and select the one that meets your upgrade
requirements.

Windows 2000 with a Mylex controller

If you are running a system with only Windows 2000 and a Mylex
controller:

• Complete the Windows XP or .NET upgrade, then

• Go to “Updating the Mylex Controller Driver” on page 3-7 to upgrade

the Mylex Windows XP or .NET driver.

Windows 2000 with a Mylex Controller with MACDISK
installed

If you are running a system with Windows 2000 and MACDISK already
installed, follow the directions below:

1. Open the “SCSI Adapters” Control Panel and remove the Mylex

Accelerated Driver.

2. Upgrade your system to Windows XP or .NET.
