3.6.3 Install additional client computers
The software can be installed on 3 additional client computers. Their IP addresses and computer names
must be entered in the host file on the client computers and on the server.
Situation Action
Network with DNS server The IP address and hostname are added automatically.
Network without DNS server Add the IP address and hostname to the server’s host file.
2 network cards with fixed IP
addresses Add both IP addresses and both hostnames to the server’s host file.
Table 5: Install client
1. In Windows Explorer, go to
Windows\System32\drivers\etc
to locate the host file.
2. Copy the file.
3. Open the copied file.

The IP address
127.0.0.1
and the hostname “localhost” are already present.
4. Enter IP address and computer name.
5. Save file.
«File > Save.»
6. Save the file in the
etc
folder.
7. Open a command prompt.
8. At the cursor, type “ping” and the client IP address.
9. Press Enter to confirm.

The ping utility runs.

The result appears directly in the window.
