Wind sensor (optional)
9.6.1
Characteristics
A wind sensor (type: WST 10.1023) can be con-
nected to the ventilation. The 24 V voltage supply
runs via the ventilation controller.
The wind sensor delivers a pulse frequency as out-
put signal depending on the wind speed. The venti-
lation controller converts this pulse frequency to an
average wind speed to suppress the influence of
wind gusts. The associated filter constants are set in
the Configuration menu. The calculated average
wind speed is compared against the maximum wind
speed set in the Configuration menu and the ventila-
tion then opened or closed accordingly.
9.6.2
Automatic detection
▶
Remove the bridge (delivery state) on the input
for the wind sensor before connecting the wind
sensor.
The ventilation controller detects whether the
bridge or the wind sensor is connected after the
mains voltage is switched on.
9.6.3
Storm protection, proportional range,
maximum opening position of the ven-
tilation
The maximum opening position of the ventilation
controller depending on the wind speed is deter-
mined by:
–
Parameter “Storm protection” in the Service
menu
–
Parameter “Wind proportional range” in the Con-
figuration menu
A
Allowable maximum ventilation opening
B
Average wind speed
C
Storm protection
D
Wind proportional range
The ventilation can be opened completely when the
average wind speed is lower than the storm protec-
tion set. Additionally, the allowable ventilation open-
ing is reduced proportional to how far the storm
protection is exceeded. The ventilation must be
completely closed as from the wind speed for storm
protection plus wind proportional range.
The ventilation can only be opened up to the allowa-
ble maximum ventilation opening when the current
ventilation position is below the allowable maximum
ventilation opening.
The ventilation is closed to this position when the
ventilation is opened further than up to the allowable
maximum ventilation opening. Closing through the
wind sensor runs without cyclic operation and has
priority over the temperature regulation in operating
mode
Automatic
.
The ventilation can however be closed com-
pletely:
–
Through temperature control in operating
mode
Automatic
–
Through the procedure in operating
mode
Close
(manual)
–
Through the wind sensor
–
Through the external close command.
If the bridge is removed but no wind sensor
connected, the ventilation controller detects
a permanent wind speed of 0.0 m/s (value
not displayed in the Status display).
