Installation Manual
-DIP switch settings for vent length-
Typical installations using
PVC, CPVC, ABS, or polypropylene vent
WARNING
• Adjust the appropriate DIP switches according to model and vent length as shown
below. DO NOT adjust the other DIP switches.
• Turn off the power supply to the water heater before changing the DIP switch settings.
• Failure to observe these warnings could lead to carbon monoxide poisoning or death.
• For details of the vent items, refer to the Installation manual
for each item.
• For clearance information, refer to pages 14 to 16.

ʺ pipe for venting is only approved for the 140H model in the Single Pipe with Room-Air Intake Installation,
Horizontal Installation as shown below.
• Maximum vent length for 2
ʺ venting is 6.5 ft (2.0 m) , not including termination.

One long sweep elbow may be installed. Deduct 5 ft (1.5 m) from maximum vent length.
• 2
ʺ venting is approved on installations up to 3,000 ft (914 m).

3" PVC adapters are not approved for use in Canada.
NOTICE
1. Insert no more than 12" (305 mm) of 3" straight pipe into
the exhaust vent collar with 3" adapter.
2. Connect a 3" x 2" reducer with the 3" straight pipe.
3. Connect 2" straight pipe into the reducer.
4. Connect spigot end of the 3" street elbow into the intake
vent collar with 3" adapter. Be sure to insert a bird screen
into the hub side.
*The bird screen that fits into the 3 inch elbow is supplied
with the indoor water heater.
