4.6 Electrical Connections
Many lathes have standard interface connections available. If it is available and the option is
purchased, the Blaze Air will be supplied with an interface cable and a connector. If the standard
connector is not available in the lathe, the Blaze Air is provided with an interface cable that must
be wired to the lathe by a qualified electrical technician.
Always refer to the Interface Schematic prior to connecting to the lathe. The Interface Schematic
should match the lathe (each manual is updated with the corresponding Interface Schematic). See
Section 17.1: Lathe Interface Schemati c of this manual.
Attention :
Before connecting the power the Blaze Air, the connection to the blower must
match the incoming power to the unit.
Also, the 24VDC power supply in the electrical enclosure must be wired for the
correct power source. The machine is factory set to the voltage on the Blaze Air
Nameplate. If it is not the correct voltage, a qualified technician must change the
transformer jumpers (refer to top of transformer for wiring instructions) and blower
motor wiring.
Testing Blower motor rotation:
After power has been applied and tested, the blower motor
rotation direction must be checked.
In the jog mode:

Turn on the Blower
™
Activate the Front Seal
The Blaze Air Vacuum Tube will move forward and vacuum should be on through the
tube
. If the air flow is blowing out the end of the Vacuum Liner:
™
Disconnect incoming power
™
Reverse 2 of the incoming power leads
™
Re-apply power and repeat the test
Any damaged components due to mis-connection of the power will not be covered by the factory’s
warranty.
