OPERATION
Calibration:
There are two parameters that can be calibrated: the Trigger
Release Screw and MAX Pedal Stroke.
Trigger Release Screw
(See figure A.8)
This screw determines the response of the pedal. It should be set
so that it engages the internal on/off switch (enabling output)
when the pedal is at rest, and disengages the on/off switch when
the pedal is depressed.
MAX Pedal Stroke
Extreme impact and/or part replacement procedures can affect
the optimal position of the pot and thus the ability to reach the
maximum welding set point. The Max Pedal Stroke parameter
aligns the maximum depressed position of the pedal to the
maximum set output of the machine.
Setting the Max Stroke:
(See figure A.9)
1. Remove the plug cover on the bottom of the pedal.
2. With the pedal fully depressed, set DIP SWITCH #2 into the
“ON” position for 1 second, and then back into the “OFF”
position.
3. Release the pedal.
4. Replace the plug cover.
Note: This entire procedure should be completed with the pedal
fully depressed. The position of the pedal when the switch is
thrown will be equated to the maximum current set point.
