NOTE
If bit 2 SLEEP is set to 1 in the request byte and in the status byte bit 2 D has the value 1,
BPS 8 is in Standby mode (SLEEP – laser and polygon wheel motor off). If bit 2 SLEEP in the
control byte is set to 0, the BPS 8 returns to positioning mode after a boot time of approx. 5s.
If polling takes place while the BPS 8 boots and there is no valid position data yet, the error
message No decodable bar code (bit OUT) is generated.

NOTE
With the BPS Configuration Tool, the user can individually adapt the binary protocols 1 and 6
to the specific requirements of the application. The binary protocols 2, 3 and 4, on the other
hand, have a fixed structure and cannot be modified.
