Secondary PTO Shaft - Remove/Install

To remove:

Step 1:

Ensure cutter bars are unfolded in operating position and fully lowered.

Step 2:

Remove lock nuts and retaining bolts

facing opposite direction. Ensure bolts

are reinstalled in this manner.

Step 6:

Slide front half of PTO shaft rearward from jackshaft

, then forward and out of PTO shaft rear

half to remove.

Step 7:

Repeat Steps 5–6 to remove rear half of PTO shaft from rear swivel gearbox input shaft.

Before installation:

Step 1:

Remove old grease, dirt and debris from sliding profiles. Refer to

page 50-29

Step 2:

Apply light coat of fresh grease to sliding profiles. Refer to

page 50-29

To install:

Install front and rear halves of PTO shaft separately.

Step 1:

Ensure spacers are positioned as shown on jackshaft

Step 2:

Position slip clutch hub

on end of rear swivel gearbox input shaft.

Step 3:

Rotate PTO shaft slightly to align splines with those on rear swivel gearbox input shaft and push
PTO shaft rearward.

Step 4:

Push PTO shaft rearward until bolt holes are aligned with groove in rear swivel gearbox input
shaft.

Step 5:

Install retaining bolts

from opposite sides of hub

as shown and secure with lock nuts.

Step 6:

Slide front half of PTO shaft into rear half of PTO shaft. Refer to

page 50-30

Step 7:

Repeat Steps 1–5 to secure front half of PTO shaft to jackshaft
