UTTER

LOTATION

Correct flotation requires approximately (45–57 kg) ground
force at outer corners of cutter bars as shown.

•

Cutter bars should be as light as possible without
missing too much crop due to bouncing.

•

Measure ground force by lifting with a spring scale at
outer edge of curtain support frames

. Cutter bars

should lift off the ground when scale reads 45–57 kg. To
check this, mower must be in operating position and
cutter bars must be fully lowered to the ground.

Check and adjust flotation if one of the following has
taken place:

•

Weight has been added to or removed from cutter bars,
including crop debris.

•

Mower is operated with a different tractor.

Different tire sizes and PTO shaft heights from one
tractor to another may affect flotation.

•

Field terrain conditions have changed.

•

Any flotation system components have been changed.
