6.1.4 Calibrate the Robot Arm
1. On the X-Link, select:
•
Tab [Test]
•
[Calibrate]
•
Button [Calibration robotarm].
2. Select button [Start].
3. Make sure the robot arm moves up, out, up again and then
forward to the maximum positions of all the cylinders.
4. Make sure the robot arm stops at the fully forward position.
5. If all the cylinders move to their limits, select button [Accept] and
make sure the robot arm moves to the home position.
6. If any cylinder does not move to its maximum position, select
button [Stop] and repeat the previous four steps.
6.2 Milking
6.2.1 First Milking
6.2.1.1 Introduction
New cows seldom enter the robot by themselves. It takes some training
to adjust these cows to the system.
New cows should always be milked under supervision the first days.
Before a cow is milked, the user should carry out a number of
preparations. Provided these are done carefully, the robot system will be
easier to operate and ensure optimum results.
•
Enter the cow data in the T4C PC
•
Shave the cow's udder and tail to make automatic teat connection
possible and to prevent the tail from being caught between the
cleaning brushes
•
Attach a cow responder/respactor to each cow
•
Let the cows habituate to the milking robot
•
Lead each cow into the box
•
Learn the system where to find the teats.
6.2.1.2 Enter the Cow Data into the T4C PC
Note:
Cow data should have been entered in the T4C programme before the first
milking is started. Incorrect data may be difficult to change!
1. Enter all cow data into the T4C system (refer to the T4C manual).
2. Make sure that a feed balance is created for each cow (refer to the
T4C manual).
