RAVENNA Streaming: a User's View
provides a technician's view of RAVENNA technology, this can be simplified into
the following end-user's view:
Layer 1
is the
Audio Transport
which is handled by the data network.
Layer 2
is the
Virtual Patching
which is handled in the background by the Zone Controller.
Layer 3
is the
Signal Handling
. In mc
2
/Nova73 systems, this is performed from the console or mxGUI via the
Signal List
display. In crystal and sapphire/Nova17, signal routing is usually defined by the zirkon configuration.
Layer 4
represents any automated or scripted applications which, in turn, control each of the lower layers.
Examples of application in this layer are VisConNavigator and a VSM control system.
