8.5    Specifying port registers 

For enable the timer output (TM9OUT, TMFOUT) function, each related port register needs to be set up. Refer to the 
Chapter 15, “Port A” , the Chapter 16 “Port B” and Chapter 17, “Port C” for details of each register.

Functioning PA0 (TM9OUT) as the timer output 

Set PA0MD1 bit (bit0 of PAMOD1 register) to “1” and PA0MD0 bit (bit0 of PAMOD0 register) to “1” for specifying the 
timer output as the quaternary function of PA0.
