Operating mode for channels is selectable by MODE OF OPERATION switches as follows:

Upper position of switch corresponding to given channel means selection of
the mode with interrupted transmission path (DROP mode) for this channel.

the mode without interrupting the transmission path (DROP & CONTINUE
mode) for this channel. The DROP mode is recommended for most applica-

Droop &
Operating mode of the TM-81 multiplexer is selectable by CONFIGURATION switches (sec-
tors 6, 7, and 10):
Normal operation, both A and B ports available.
The multiplexer works as terminal device, only B port available. Clock signal
from internal quartz generator.
