Folding/Unfolding the Seeder
Hitch
The Seeder Hitch is equipped with hydraulic cylinders to
fold and unfold the seeder from transport to field position.
A combination of both the fold and lift hydraulics will be
used to fold/unfold the seeder.

DANGER
1. Before folding/unfolding the seeder, pin the seeder
hitch to the tractor drawbar.
See “Attaching Seeder
Hitch To The Tractor” on page 4-3.

WARNING
2. Connect the hydraulic hoses to the tractor remotes.
3. Connect the Seed Shaft Sensor connectors to the
main harness.
4. When unfolding:
a. Remove transport lock pins from telescoping
hitch and wing fold locks and place in storage
locations.
See Figures 4-2 and 4-3.
b. Fully raise the three point seeder lifts so that lock
ups are free.
c. Fully raise the Seeder Hitch to relieve pressure
on the main lift transport locks.
NOTE
Excessive cylinder travel at this point will inhibit unfolding
of the seeder hitch.
d. Lower the unit to the ground, until the hitch and
main lift are fully lowered.
e. Continue to unfold the seeder until the wing
cylinders have fully extended, the wing brace
locks have engaged, and the three point seeder
lift lock ups are fully unlocked.
f. Slowly raise the hitch to level the unit for field
operation. Use the visual reference indicator hole
on the front of the hitch to know when the unit is
approximately level.
5. When folding:
a. Raise the three point seeder lifts completely.
b. Fully lower the hitch.
c. Begin folding the wings inward. The three point
lock ups will lock first, then the wing brace lock
will move to release the tongue braces. Continue
folding the wings in completely.
d. Fully raise hitch and main lift. Watch to make
sure the wing locks have fully engaged as the
hitch begins to raise.
e. Install transport lock pins in the telescoping hitch
and wing fold locks to secure.

The Seeder Hitch should be folded/unfolded on a
large level area large enough to accommodate
the seeder when unfolded. Be sure other people
and pets are a safe distance away. Tractor should
be stopped and not moving, with the engine at a
slow idle.
The wings will generate negative tongue weight
when the unit is unfolded causing the hitch to
rise suddenly, possibly resulting in serious injury
or death. Be sure the tractor drawbar and safety
chain are securely attached to the tractor before
unfolding the Seeder Hitch.
