b. Secure u-bolt (#10) with nuts (#11) and tighten
nuts to the correct torque.
4. Tighten elbows (#2) to tees (#1A & #1B).
5. Attach Hydraulic hoses (#3A & #3B) to elbows (#2)
and tighten.
6. Select which set of couplers fits the loader’s third
function couplers: pioneer couplers (#4 & #5) or flat
face couplers (#6 & #7). Lay aside the couplers that
will not be used.
7.
Consult the tractor Operator’s Manual to determine
which hydraulic line on the tractor loader is under
pressure. Select male coupler (#4 or #6) or female
coupler (#5 or #7) that will mate with the tractor
loader coupler that is under hydraulic pressure.
8. Attach the selected coupler in step 7 to hydraulic
pressure line (#3A) and tighten.
9. Attach remaining coupler to hydraulic return
line (#3B) and tighten.
NOTE:
Pressure line (#3A) is attached to lower
tee (#1A) and terminates at the base end of
hydraulic cylinders (#9).
Return line (#3B) attaches to the upper tee (#1B) and
terminates at the rod end of hydraulic cylinders (#9).
Grapple Set-up for Tractors
The grapple is shipped with factory standard hydraulic
hoses and couplers for connecting the grapple to a
tractor’s front mounted loader.
An Accessory Hydraulic Hose kit is available for
attaching the grapple to a skid steer or track loader.
“Grapple Set-up for Skid Steers & Track
The following are instructions for attaching the factory
standard hydraulic Hoses.
Hydraulic Hose Assembly (Standard)
Refer to Figure 1-1:
1. Attach elbows (#2) to lower tee (#1A) and upper
tee (#1B). Do not tighten elbows at this time.
2. If attaching hydraulic hoses (#3A & #3B) on the
right-hand side of the front loader, rotate elbows (#2)
45
o
to the right. If attaching hydraulic hoses on the
left-hand side, rotate elbows 45
o
to the left.
3. If u-bolt (#10) interferes with elbows (#2), move
u-bolt as follows:
a. Remove nuts (#11) and move u-bolt (#10) to the
opposite side of tees (#1A & #1B).
NOTE:
If this grapple is used on a tractor loader,
orificed adapters (#8) may be removed from upper
tee (#1B) to increase hydraulic operating speed.
