7.2. Formatting for Mac Users
Formatting Using the Mac OS 10.x Disk Utility
Connect the LaCinema Premier to the computer

and turn on the drive.
Select

Utilities
from the
Go
menu in the Finder
menu bar.
In the Utilities folder, double-click

Disk Utility
.
The Disk Utility window will open. Select the volume

labeled
LaCie Hard Drive
from the list of available
hard disks on the left side of the window.
Select the

Erase
tab.
In the Volume Format section, select MS-DOS

File System and then create a name for the LaCie
LaCinema Premier.
Once you have finalized the volume format and

name, click
Erase
. Mac OS 10.x will automatically
setup the disk with the partitions and volume format
you selected.

Following these steps will erase ev-
erything from the hard drive. If you have informa-
tion that you want to protect or continue to use,
back up this information before performing these
steps.
CAUTION:
Only use the Erase tab. Do not use
the Partition function. Errors may occur.
ImpOrTANT INfO:
Only MS DOS
(FAT32) file format is supported by LaCinema
Premier drive. If you format with any other file
system (Mac OS Extended, Mac OS Standard or
UNIX File System), the content will be not visible
when connected to a TV.
