Appendix A: Router Configuration
Router configuration for the Ethernet Disk mini Home varies depending on the brand and model of router connecting your Ethernet Disk
mini Home Edition to your network and the Internet. Below are instructions for configuring three common brands of routers. If your router
is not listed below or for more help go to

Before beginning router configuration you will need the IP address of your Ethernet Disk mini Home.
IMpORTANT INFO:
To allow you to use your HipServ remotely from the Internet, and to allow you to share content with friends
and family, your Ethernet Disk mini uses UPnP to forward certain ports to itself. This negotiation is done automatically during the
Router Configuration step in Setup.
You only need to complete the steps below if your router does not support UPnP.

Router Configuration
Step 1 – Access your router configuration page
Open a Web Browser and navigate to the IP address for your D-Link router. If you don’t know your router’s IP address, try

http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.1.1 (these are common IP addreses for home networking routers).
Enter your username and password. Please refer to your D-Link user manual for the default username and password.
