Hydraulic System 141

Adjust the directional control relief valve as needed by loosening the locknut and by turning the

adjustment screw (see Figure 5

33).

The pressure should be set to the pressure indicated in Table 1 on page 139.

Using a ½” Allen key, turn the adjustment screw clockwise to increase pressure or counter-

clockwise to reduce pressure.
Use a 1½” key to screw/unscrew the locknut.

Reconnect the packer extend limit/proximity switch.

Adjusting the Utility Section

OTE

Adjusting the relief valves may not be possible before adjusting the utility section.

To adjust the utility section:

Disconnect the closed tailgate solenoid (see H in Figure 5

34).

Connect a 0 – 600 psi pressure gauge to the valve inlet cover (see E in Figure 5

34).

Start up the engine and let it idle.

Turn ON the pump.

Push and hold the tailgate control switch in the “Closed” position.

Adjust the generated pilot pressure to 420 ± 20 psi.
When facing the valve, the adjustment screw is on the right side of the valve (see A in Figure

34).

Once the adjustment made,

disconnect the pressure gauge.

Reconnect the tailgate solenoid.

Install a 0 -600 psi pressure gauge on the maximum pilot pressure port (see D in Figure 5

34).

10.

Push and hold the tailgate control switch in the “Closed” position.
