9 1. Disconnect the heater from its electrical supply.
2. Close all fuel supply valves to the inlet of the heater.
3. Remove the case top and either side panel.
4. Disconnect the motor leads.
5. Loosen the set screw on the fan hub and slide the fan
off of the fan shaft. Be careful to prevent fan blade
damage.
6. Remove the nut and bolt that secure the motor to the
motor mount.
7. Install the replacement motor and fan by reversing
these procedures.
ATTENTION
■
Insure that set screw of fan hub is over flat of motor
shaft before tightening.
■
Fan must be installed so set screw is toward motor and
fan hub is flush with motor shaft end.
■
Spin the fan blade to make sure the fan blade does not
contact any internal heater components.

Allow the heater to cool before servicing.

1. Disconnect the heater from its electrical supply and
close all fuel supply valves to the heater.
2. Remove the case top and the right side panel as
viewed from the air inlet end of the heater.
3. Using the appropriate wrench, disconnect the
thermocouple contact nut from the pilot safety control
valve.
4. Disconnect the two electrical leads from the energy
cut off block on the thermocouple.
5. Pull the thermocouple tip from its retaining sleeve.
6. Install the replacement thermocouple by reversing
the above procedures.
ATTENTION
■
When properly installed, the tip of the thermocouple will
extend 1/2 in. from the retaining collar on the
combustion side of the burner plate.
■
When tightening the contact nut of the thermocouple,
thread the nut in fingertight and snug it in place with
the appropriate wrench.
