Adjust the cutting height to the job.
The front roller can be
adjusted to four heights
as shown in the diagram below.

Attach the front roller to the proper height range for the job before starting.
To adjust the rear roller, loosen the cutting height adjustment nut, set the height at the
proper level using the cutting height gauge, then tighten the cutting height adjustment nut.

8. Mower adjustment
: When adjusting the blades, stop the engine on a flat surface and
apply the side brake.
Caution
1)
Set the reel motor's reel rotate/stop lever
to the
(STOP) position.
2)
To adjust the reel cutter and bed knife, move
the cutter adjustment nut so that the blade
edges make uniform contact, then adjust so
that the blades can cut two newspaper
pages.
The blade contact pressure increases when
the cutter adjustment nut is loosened and
becomes less when tightened.

If the blades still do not cut after adjustment,
perform lapping on the blades.
4)
As the reel cutter becomes smaller
through wear, the spring tension becomes
weaker. Loosen the threaded pipe for
cutter adjustment and adjust the spring
tension.

handling them.
Take extra care of your fingers when you rotate the reel cutter for
performing a test cut with newspaper.
