1-6-1 Upgrading the firmware on the fax control PCB

Firmware upgrading requires the following tools:
Compact Flash (Products manufactured by SANDISK are recommended.)

NOTE

When writing data to a new Compact Flash from a computer, be sure to format it in advance.

Procedure

1. Enter the maintenance mode and run

maintenance item U680 (Displaying the fax
board ROM version). Check the version of the
ROM on the fax control PCB (see page 1-3-
32).

2. Exit the maintenance mode.
3. Turn the power switch off and disconnect the

power plug.

4. Remove the seven screws, lift the shield

cover and then remove the cover.

machine's main PCB (insert the surface of
