1.5. General Precautions
• Liquids and other foods must not be hea

ted in sealed containers as the containers
may explode.
• It is dangerous for anyone other than a
qualified technician to carry out any servi
-
cing or repairs involving the removal of a
cover protecting from exposure to micro
-
waves.
• Only allow children to use the oven un
-
supervised if adequate instructions have
been given allowing the child to use the
oven safely and to understand the hazards
of improper use.
• Only use utensils suitable for use in micro
-
wave ovens.
• The oven should be cleaned regularly and
any food deposits removed.
• Read and follow the specific: “PRECAU
-
TIONS AGAINST EXPOSURE TO MI-
CROWAVE ENERGY”.
• When heating food in plastic or paper
containers, watch over the oven to check
against them catching fire.
• If smoke is observed, switch off or unplug
the appliance and keep the door closed in
order to smother any flames.
• Do not overcook food.
• Do not use the oven cavity for storage pur
-
poses. Do not store items such as bread,
cookies, etc. inside the oven.
• Remove wire twist-ties and metal handles
from paper or plastic containers/bags be-
fore placing them in the oven.
• Only install or place this oven as indicated
in the installation instructions provided.
• Eggs in the shell and whole hard-boiled
eggs should not be heated in microwave
ovens as they may explode, even after
having been removed from the microwa
-
ve oven.
• Only use this appliance for the purposes it
was designed for as described in the ma-
nual. Do not use corrosive chemicals or
vapor in this appliance. This oven is spe
-
cially designed for heating food. It is not
intended for industrial or laboratory use.
• The microwave oven is only intended for
defrosting, cooking and steaming food.
• If the supply cord is damaged, it should be
replaced by the manufacturer, its service
agent or similarly qualified persons in or
-
der to prevent danger.
• Do not store or use this appliance outdoors.
• Do not use this oven near water, in a damp
basement or near a swimming pool.
• The temperature of contact surfaces may
be high when the appliance is in use. Keep
the cord away from hot surfaces, and do
not cover any of the oven’s vents.
