Total number of steps in 100μs with a 14-bit resolution 0.0001667 * 16384 (14 bits) = 3 steps

After the reading of the position value, the actual position has a deterministic delay that de-
pends on the rotational speed of the encoder.

1 = counter-clockwise CCW

2 = clockwise CW
