Closing the fuel tank filler cap

Fire hazard
Fuel is highly flammable, toxic and a
health hazard.

Check that the fuel tank filler cap is locked cor-
rectly after closing.
–
Change your clothing if fuel spills on them.
–
Rinse the affected area immediately with plenty of
water in the event of contact with the skin.

Fold down fuel tank filler cap

and push it down.
The fuel tank filler cap locks audibly in place.

Fuel petcocks

A fuel petcock

is located on each side of the fuel tank.
The lower fuel tank fairing must be removed to reach the fuel pet-
cocks.

The fuel petcocks must always be open during operation.
The fuel petcocks are only closed to remove the fuel tank.
Possible states
• Fuel petcocks are closed

Level equalization cannot take
place and the fuel supply to the throttle valve body is shut
off.
• Fuel petcocks are open
–
Level equalization can take place
and the fuel supply to the throttle valve body is open.
