Damage to the electronic system!

Never carry out dielectric tests on components of the electronic system.
▷
Do not carry out dielectric tests on the power cable or relay connection cables
until the connections have been disconnected from the electronic system.

Improper potential equalisation
Malfunction of the pump set electronics
▷
The potential equalisation system must have a mesh-type design in accordance
with EN 50310 and 50174-2.
▷
The system reference potential plane (SRPP) must be capable of withstanding
high currents and have a low impedance.
NOTE
Depending on the combination of settings, the pump set could conceivably restart
automatically after acknowledgement/reset or when the cause of failure has been
eliminated.
5.7.2 Information for planning the system
5.7.2.1 EMC-compliant installation
An EMC-compliant installation is mandatory in order to ensure trouble-free
operation. In addition to product standard EN 61800-3 the corresponding standards
for potential equalisation and installation, EN 50310 and EN 50174-2 must be taken
into account.
The most important points are summarised here:
▪
Induction loops must be avoided when laying cables.
▪
Maintain a sufficient distance of signal and bus cables from live cables with rapid
current and voltage changes.
▪
Distributed equipment that is connected by means of signal or bus cables must
be connected to the same reference potential.
▪
Connect all frames, equipment, racks, cabinets and shield connections to one
another and to the potential equalisation system at various points (meshed
potential equalisation system).
▪
Fit shield connections of electrical cables on both sides.
5.7.2.2 Earth connection
The pump set must be properly earthed and connected to the potential equalisation
system. The earth connection is located on the motor. This connection is used to
earth the pump, the heat sink of the electronic system and the shield connections
inside the electronic system.
As well as ensuring the necessary level of safety, the earth connection is also required
for EMC compliance.
5.7.2.3 Electrical protection equipment
Back-up fuses
Provide three fast-acting fuses (e.g. SIBA 50 179 06.16) in the mains power supply for
the pump set. The fuse size must be suitable for the mains input current supplied to
the pump set.
