How to use the purge if installed. Only used with Horn antennas.
Process conditions
How to use the purge
The device is colder than other
elements in the process. It is possible
that there will be condensation in
the antenna.
Continuous use. Use low-pressure gas to remove condensation from the
antenna.
There is a risk of build-up in the
antenna
Purge at intervals. Use compressed air, nitrogen or another gas that is
applicable to the process up to 6 bar / 87 psi.
There is a build-up or risk of
build-up in the antenna
Purge at intervals. Use a liquid (hot water, solvent or another liquid that is
applicable to the process) to melt the liquid that has crystallized in the
antenna.

Heating or cooling horn antennas under process conditions
A heating / cooling system option is available for DN50 / 2

, DN80 / 3

and DN100 / 4

Metallic Horn
antennas. The outer surface of the antenna is sealed in a metal heating / cooling jacket. There is an
inlet and an outlet for the heating / cooling jacket on the top of the flange.
WARNING!
Make sure that the pressure in the heating / cooling system is not more than 6 bar / 87 psi. Make sure
that the flange temperature is not more than the maximum limit.
It is also possible to use a purging system with the heating / cooling system. For more data, refer to

Service warranty
WARNING!
Only approved personnel can do an inspection of the device and repairs. If you find a problem, send the
device back to your supplier for inspection and/or repairs.
INFORMATION!
The converter housing can be detached from the process connection assembly under process
conditions. For more data, refer to How to turn or remove the signal converter on page 15
.
Servicing by the customer is limited by warranty to:

The removal and installation of the device.
•
The removal and installation of the signal converter (with the weather protection, if this option is
attached). For more data, refer to
How to turn or remove the signal converter
on page 15.

Replacement of signal converters of other radar devices: The removal of OPTIWAVE 7300 signal
converter and installation of the OPTIWAVE 7400 signal converter.
