Steam Engine Anna Version 2
This steam engine is suitable for the
propulsion of model boats of approx. 50 cm
length or displacement of max. 1000 g.
Please read this manual carefully before
operating your steam engine. Familiarize
yourself with the entire operation before
heating the machine and only heat the
machine after you have understood and
prepared each step.
Caution!
This steam system should only be
operated by children and adolescents
under adult supervision. Working with
open fire and hot steam requires great
circumspection.
The Anna single-cylinder steam engine is a
deliberately simple steam engine designed to
facilitate the entry into steam technology.
Nevertheless, this plant has high-quality
technology and safety. The boilers are made
of seamless goods pipe, brazed and tested
with at least double the operating pressure.
The bursting pressure of this boiler is above
13 bar. A pressure that can never be reached
with the specified Esbit or Burning Paste fuels.
The heating of the boiler is done with burnt
paste or Esbit tablets. Only use these fuels.
The water used should be lime-free or at least
low in calcium. Distilled water should be
added with 5% tap water or filtered rainwater
to mitigate aggressiveness. At the same time,
tap water can also be used. The aim is to
prevent calcification. Lime is an abrasive that
would ultimately increase wear and destroy
the cylinder tread.
The construction
Operate the system first on a fire or heat
resistant base. Connect the exhaust pipe from
the beginning, as shown in step 5, and place it
in a small container. Caution! This is where
the hot exhaust steam comes out immediately
after the engine starts.
The operating sequence
1. Fill in the water
2. Fill in the steam oil
3. Oil the bearings
4. Cheering
5. Open and regulate the steam valve
6. Remove the exhaust steam
7. Drain the remaining water
1. Fill in the water
Unscrew the water filling screw with an safety
overpressure valve and fill 5 cc of water with
the enclosed syringe 4 times. Screw the screw
back in and tighten with the hand. The O-ring
should be applied and sealed but not crushed.
A quark cup is ideal for pulling on the syringe.
2. Fill in the steam oil
1. Fill in
water
2. Fill in
steam oil
3. Oli bearings
4. Cheering
Fill in
water,
4 Syringes
of 5 ml
