USE AND PRECAUTIONS:
The BAMBOU harness is a climbing and mountaineering sit harness, also suitable for acrobatic use, it is compliant with standard EN12277 Type C.
BAMBOU is a personal protective equipment, it must be assigned to a single user (it can be used only by one person at a time). A harness must first be
adjusted to the size of the operator. This harness must not be used for canyoning activities and for working at heights.
Installation: Loosen the belt buckle and the thigh buckles. Put on the harness by placing your hands on the belt and making sure to put your legs in the
leg loops. Tighten the belt, then the 2 leggings. The rear elastic strap enables a final comfort adjustment of the leg loop supports. Before and during use,
make sure: that the loops are situated next to the adjustment buckles and that the extra strap length is properly placed under the loops in order to prevent
the untimely loosening of the straps in the adjustment buckles.
A harness must be strapped close to the body, without excess, in order to enable the user to move freely! Before use for the first time the user should carry
out a comfort and adjustability test (in suspension situation), in a safe place, to ensure that the harness is the correct size, has been adjusted correctly and
provides an acceptable level of comfort for the intended use.

Weight of the BAMBOU harness: 510 g
Maximum weight on each gear loop: 5 kg
ONLY THE SINGLE VENTRAL POINT IS ALLOWED FOR ATTACHMENT
Tying or Connection:
Tying: Tying can be carried out directly on the single point, in this case we recommend using a connection with a lanyard hitch knot (1a) or a figure-8
knot (1b) – see diagram on Marking page. Systematically check your knot before using your system.
Warning: Tying with 1 connector is prohibited.
Belaying/Rappelling:
Belaying, self-belaying, or rappelling on a single point using a locking connector. Systematically check, throughout use, that the
karabiner is properly closed and locked and that it works through its long axis.
In all cases, comply with the instructions for using the system and that you are attaching on the single point.
Product markings should be checked periodically for legibility.
During use, make sure to limit the pendulum effect, as well as the risk and the height of a fall. For safety reasons and before each use, make sure that in
the event of a fall there is no obstacle obstructing the fall arrest.
Before and during use we advise you to make the necessary arrangements for a safe rescue if the need should arise. Suspension trauma can effect people
in different ways so it is essential that any rescue should be carried out safely as a quickly as possible.
A harness is for the sole use of people trained, skilled and in good health, or under the supervision of a trained and skilled person.
Warning!
Certain
medical conditions may affect user safety, if in doubt, consult your doctor.
Be aware of the hazards that could reduce the performance of your equipment, and therefore the user’s safety, if exposed to extreme temperatures (<
-30°C or > 50°C), prolonged exposure to the elements (UV rays, humidity), chemical agents, electrical constraints, twisting of the fall arrest system
during use, sharp edges, friction or cutting, etc.
Check the condition of the harness before every use
: visual inspection to check the condition of the straps (no signs of cuts, burns or abnormal shrinkage),
the seams (no visible damage), the metal parts (no deformation or rust) and that the connectors work properly (opening/locking). In the event of
deformation or doubt the harness should be withdrawn from service. After a fall the product must not be reused and withdrawn from use (see section
VERIFICATION PROCEDURE).
Do not remove, add or replace any component of the harness.
TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS:
Strap material: polyester and/or polyamide. Buckle material: heat treated steel, stainless steel and/or aluminium.
Maximum rated load of the harness 140 kg.
UNIVERSAL size: Waist size: 65-110 cm – Thigh size: 40-70 cm.
SUITABILITY FOR USE:
The climbing harness is used with/on systems that absorb energy, dynamic rope type, lanyard with energy dissipater, etc. in order to limit the impact
force. It may be dangerous to create one’s own fall arrest system where each safety function can interfere with another safety function. Read the
recommendations on using each component in the system before use.
VERIFICATION PROCEDURE:
The equipment has a service life of 10 years (in accordance with the annual examination by a competent person authorized by KRATOS SAFETY), but
