Choosing the SWITCHING METHOD Setting
Section
8.4.1
describes the SWITCHING METHOD settings for
standalone units and large matrices. Section
8.4.2
describes how to
configure a SWITCHING METHOD.
8.4.1
Understanding the SWITCHING METHOD Settings
Setting the
VS-1616A
unit as a Stand-Alone UNIT
1
Setting the
VS-1616A
unit as one unit in a system of interconnected
switchers (instead of as a Stand-Alone UNIT) provides a choice of 2
SWITCHING METHOD settings:
provides only one
SWITCHING METHOD setting, that is, immediate switching,
irrespective of how the sync is setup on the Menu. Switching occurs
immediately after completion of front panel or dry-contact operation or
immediately after receiving an RS-232 or RS-485 command, or an IR
command. The switching is independent of the video vertical reference.
•
NoVIS
, (as described above)
•
MTX
(SYNC from Matrix) - the vertical interval of the video
reference (selected on any video in a system of interconnected
switchers) is present on the “SYNC” RS-485 terminal block
connector
2
To choose the MTX (SYNC from Matrix) setting
. This reference signal applies to all switchers in the
multi-switcher system and facilitates switching all units
simultaneously
3
Figure 21
as the example in
illustrates:
•
Connect the RS-485 terminal block connectors
4
•
Connect and set the video reference signal on the
VS-162V
unit
to EXT (external sync) or INT# 1 (internal sync)
between both
switchers in the multi-switcher system
•
Set the video reference on the
VS-1616A
unit to the MTX

6.6.1
describes)
