LIGHTING AND SHUTDOWN

FOR YOUR SAFETY - READ BEFORE LIGHTING
A. This appliance is lit by a match or hand fire starter.
BEFORE LIGHTING, smell all around the appliance area for gas. Be sure to smell next to the floor because some gas is heavier than
air and will settle on the floor.
WHAT TO DO IF YOU SMELL GAS
:
Shut off gas to the appliance.
Extinguish any open flame.
If odor continues, keep away from the appliance and immediately call your gas supplier or fire department.

Use only your hand to turn the universal key. Never use tools. If the key will not turn by hand, do not try to repair it, call a qualified
service technician. Forced or attempted repair may result in a fire or explosion, and loss of warranty.
C.
Do not use this appliance if any part has been under water. Immediately call a qualified service technician to inspect the appliance and
to replace any part of the control system and any gas control which has been under water.
LIGHTING INSTRUCTIONS
STOP - READ SAFETY INFORMATION ABOVE.
1. Insert universal key into floor plate located at the front of appliance. Turn key clockwise to turn gas to OFF.
2. Wait 5 minutes for gas to clear out.
3. Turn ON the main gas supply.
If you smell gas, STOP!
Turn off gas and recheck gas connections for leaks. Do not continue until gas
leaks are corrected. If you do not smell gas, continue with next step.
4. Place a burning match to burner media surface covering the burner tube. DO NOT HOLD THE MATCH BY HAND.
5. After the match is burning and in position, turn universal key counter-clockwise to ON. Appliance should light within 5 seconds.
SHUTDOWN INSTRUCTIONS
SHUTTING OFF APPLIANCE
Turn universal key clockwise to the OFF position.
CAUTION
DO NOT turn the universal key to the ON position FOR 5 MINUTES after shutting the appliance off.
DO NOT leave universal key in floor plate when appliance is not in use.
