•
Always check first if the label with the ironing instructions is attached to
the cloth to be ironed. Always follow such ironing instructions.
•
Iron first all clothes with particular finishings at lowest temperatures
(such as ripples, embossed details, shiny details, etc.).
•
Choose the clothes to be ironed according to the kind of fabric they
are made of: wool with wool cotton with cotton, etc. The iron heats
up quicker than it cools down; for this reason, we recommend to start
ironing all clothes which require a lower temperature, for example those
made of synthetic fibre.
•
If the piece of clothing you need to iron is made of different kind of
fabrics, make sure to choose always the lowest temperature that kind of
material requires (i.e. if the piece of clothing is made of 60% polyester
and 40% cotton, you have to iron it according to the temperature
required for polyester and without steam).
•
If you do not know the kind of fabric, you have to try to iron a small and
hidden area of it trying to find the appropriate temperature for it (try it
by starting from the lowest temperature).
•
You can press the iron on pure wool clothes (100% wool) by choosing
the “steam” option.
•
It is advisable to adjust the steam knob to the max power and use a dry
cloth for the pressing.
•
When steam-ironing woollen fabrics, shining of the fabric may occur.
This can be prevented by overturning the article on its inside and by
ironing its inner side. Velvet and other similar textures which rapidly
acquire shiny spots should be ironed in one direction only (by following
the hair line) while applying a slight pressure.
•
Always keep the iron moving.
•
Silk and other fabrics which may easily become shiny have to be ironed
on their reverse side. To avoid staining those garments, do not use the
spray function on silk or other delicate fabrics.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
•
Caution! Before any maintenance or cleaning, unplug the machine and
let the boiler cool down.
•
Pour in the boiler some water and rinse out to remove eventual
limestone residues. Repeat it also after a long period of inactivity.
•
Always empty the boiler. The remaining water in the boiler may build up
lime deposits.
•
Clean the machine enclosure with a damp cloth.
•
Don’t use any solvents, they may damage the machine plastic
components.
