4.2. Standard Board Installation Procedure
Before installing the CP347 in a CompactPCI system read and observe the following:
1.
Observe the safety requirements indicated in Chapter 4.1
Hardware Installation

Failure to comply with the instructions in this chapter may damage the board or result in
improper system operation.

Configure the board for operation in accordance with the application requirements. For information
regarding CP347 configuration, see Chapter 3
Configuration
. To install CP347 specific peripheral devices,
see the appropriate sections within Chapter 4

Incorrect installation of the CP347 can damage the CP347 or system boards.
Read the following instructions carefully.
To install the CP347 in a CompactPCI system, proceed as follows:
1. Turn off all power to the system before proceeding.
Do not push the board into the backplane connectors.
Use the ejector handles to seat the board into the backplane connectors.
2. Insert the board into the designated slot carefully until it makes contact with the backplane connectors.
3. Use the ejector handle to engage the board with the backplane. The board is engaged when the ejector handle is
locked.
4. Secure the board’s front panel to the chassis with retaining screws, to avoid loosening of the board through
vibration and to provide an adequate earth connection.
5. Connect all external interfacing cables to the board, as required.
6. Ensure that the board and interfacing cables are secured properly.
7.
The CP347 is now ready for operation.
4.3. Standard Board Removal Procedure
To remove the CP347 from a CompactPCI system, proceed as follows:
1.
Observe the safety requirements indicated in Chapter 4.1 Hardware Installation.
Incorrect removal of the CP347 can damage the CP347 or other board in the system.
Read the following instructions carefully.
2. Turn off all power to the system before proceeding.
