Check that the dump lever (3) is in “HOLD” position (B).

Check that the retarder control lever (5) has been set up-
ward.

Check that the cover of the engine shutdown secondary
switch (4) is closed.

Insert the key into the starting switch (5) and turn it to ON
position (B).

Check that the machine monitor operates in the following
manner.
1) Centralized warning lamp (6) and pilot display (7) light

up for 2 seconds and go out for 1 second.
