3. Install the Lift Rod
From above the sink:
Apply a ring of plumbers putty around the bottom of the lift rod
flange according to the putty or sealant manufacturer’s
instructions.
Insert the lift rod flange through the available hole on the sink
rim.
Remove any excess putty or sealant.
Insert the bumper into the bottom of the lift knob. Set aside.
From underneath the sink:
Place the plastic washer, then the brass washer around the
threaded body of the lift rod flange, as illustrated.
Thread the nut onto the lift rod flange to secure the washers into
place.
Insert the threaded end of the lift rod through the hole of the lift
rod flange.
From above the sink:
Thread the lift knob onto the threaded end of the lift rod until
hand tight.
