6. Install the Tower
CAUTION: Risk of personal injury or property damage.
The tower assembly is very heavy and will
require at least two people to safely install.
Remove the nuts from the tower bracket studs. Set the nuts aside.
Remove the six sockethead screws that secure the tower face to the tower. Set the screws aside.
Carefully remove the tower face.
Set the tower face aside in a safe location to prevent damage.
With help, carefully carry the tower to the installation location and lift into position against the
finished wall.
Use shims to raise the tower between 1/16
″
(2 mm) and 1/8
″
(3 mm) off the finished basin.
Using a level, plumb the tower.
Using the holes in the tower as a template, mark the locations for the two lag bolts onto the finished
wall. Verify that the holes line up with the 2x4 stringers.
Carefully move the tower away from the installation location.
Drill two 3/8
″
pilot holes, at the marked locations, through the finished wall, water-resistant wall
material and into the 2x4 stringers.
Drill two 3/4
″
holes through the finished wall only. Do not enlarge the holes in the water-resistant
wall material or the 2x4 stringers.
Clean the tower installation surfaces of dirt and debris.
Attach the spacer washers to the back side of the lag bolt holes with tape.
