3.2 Improper use
The pumps may not be operated in potentially explosive at-
mospheres.
The pumps are not suitable for use below ground.
The pumps are not suitable for transferring:
§
Dusts
§
Liquids
§
Aerosols
§
Biological and microbiological substances
§
Fuel
§
Explosives
§
Fibers
§
Oxidants
§
Food
The pump may not be used to simultaneously produce vac-
uum and operating pressure.
No operating pressure may be applied to the suction side of
the pump.
The pump may not be used if reactive, explosive or otherwise
dangerous mixtures could result when the gas ballast valve is
open (e.g., with the medium).
3.3 Using for transferring explosive
atmospheres
To transfer explosive atmospheres, only use pumps of the ap-
propriate device category and temperature class.
