Reassemble drive spindle and bronze gear in reverse order.
Reinstallation of motor
Position the belt #432 in place using the vertical guide posts to hold it in place, while you
carefully set the motor back in place. You will have to be careful to hold the motor assembly
absolutely vertical and make sure the motor pulley goes into place without knocking the belt out
of place.
With the motor in place, push the mounting plate to the rear to take up the belt slack. If the
plate moves fully to the rear, you’ve probably knocked the belt out of place and you’ll have to try
again.
Tighten two of the motor mounting screws, restore power to the machine, and turn it on. You
can tell from the sound if the belt tension is correct. When you are satisfied with the belt
tension, lock all four bolts in place and finish your assembly of all items and the machine is
ready for operation again.
Sawframe Travel Restrictions
If the sawframe does not travel as far as you want
and you cannot determine the reason why, check
the following:
The blade guard may need to be adjusted. In the
following photo you can see that the blade brush
travels in a slot in the blade guard, and if the arm
comes to the bottom of this slot the sawframe will
not move any further. Loosen the two mounting
screws for the blade guard and drop it down
slightly, to allow the sawframe to travel deeper.
The adjustable stop may need to be adjusted. In the following
photo you can see that there is an adjustable stop (the RH socket
head cap screw with special washer) that mounts in a circular
track as shown. When the sawframe travels, the circular hub in
the center of the photo moves and mounted on it is another
socket head cap screw (the LH socket head cap screw).
This stop can be left free, or it can be adjusted for a mechanical
limit for upper or lower sawframe travel.
