ADJUSTMENTS & OPERATION
Using the track lock knob
This Plunge Cut Track Saw comes with a track lock knob (A) Fig.14 which locks
the saw to the track, it doesn’t prevent the saw from sliding on the track, it simply
prevents the saw from lifting off the track during operation. This is a safety device
which must be used to limit the negative effects of kickback.
1) Pull up on the track lock knob (A) Fig.14 and turn it counterclockwise until the
arrow points at the “0” mark (B), then properly position the saw on the track.
2) Pull up on the track lock knob (A) again and turn it clockwise until the arrow
points at the “I” mark (C).
Your Plunge Cut Track saw is now properly installed on the optional 50” track.
Changing speeds
This Plunge Cut Track Saw comes with a variable speed adjusting dial (A) Fig.15
and is located below the trigger. The variable speed range is 2,000 to 6,000 RPM,
follow these instructions to change speed:
1) Turn variable speed dial (A) Fig.15 towards the number 1 to reduce the speed
of the blade.
2) Turn variable speed dial (A) Fig.15 towards the number 6 to increase the speed
of the blade.
Cutting speed guideline and warnings
- Set the variable speed dial from 1-3 for soft plastics and non-ferrous metals.
- Set the variable speed dial from 4-5 for hard plastics, fiberglass, hardboards and
acrylic.
- Set the variable speed dial from 5-6 for solid wood, plywood, MDF boards.
- It is recommended to reduce speed to obtain clearer cuts in soft materials and
heat-sensitive materials.
- If cutting at max speed, keep in mind that cutting faster wears out the blade
faster.
- Only use replacement blades with a 20mm arbor with a minimum RPM rating of
6,000 RPM.
Adjusting saw base 90
0
to the blade
This Plunge Cut Track Saw comes with the base which is set at 90
0
to the blade
at the factory, if an adjustment to this setting is needed, proceed as follows:
1) Position the mode selector to “free plunge cutting action”.
2) Press the plunge lock/release button, plunge the blade (A) Fig.16 below the
base (B) and hold the blade in position.
3) Place a square on the base and up against the blade and check to see if the
blade is at a perfect 90
0
. Help from another person will be helpful.
4) If the base is not at a perfect 90
0
to the blade, using a 3mm hex key, adjust both
set screws (C) Fig.16 until the base is set at a perfect 90
0
to the blade.
Turning Saw On
This Plunge Cut Track Saw comes with a plunge action lock/release button (A)
Fig.17 and is located above the trigger. To turn the saw On, first press and hold
the plunge action lock/release button (A) (do not plunge the saw at this point), then
squeeze the trigger (B).
Once the saw blade reaches its full speed, you can now plunge the blade into the
workpiece and make your cut.
To stop the saw, simply release the trigger (B). Wait until the saw blade has come
to a complete stop before making any further adjustments.
