OPERATION & MAINTENANCE
OPERATION- USING THE MACHINE
1. Place the workpiece in the vise, and lock it in place. See section “Adjusting and Operating the Vise”.
2. Press the “ON” button to start the machine.
3. Before making a cut, make sure the coolant valve is in the open position as shown by (A) Fig.7. Turn on the coolant pump by rotating the
coolant pump switch to the “I” position.
4. Squeeze the trigger on the down feed handle, wait for the blade to come up to speed and smoothly lower the head to make the cut.
5. Once the cut is finished, raise the head and let go of the trigger. Turn off the coolant pump.
6. Press the “OFF” button to shut down the machine. Remove the workpiece from the vise.
NOTE: The workpiece stop (Fig.19) can be used to quickly and accurately make multiple cuts of the same length.
CLEANING & MAINTENANCE
With each use:
1. Keep the machine clean and free from debris.
2. Make sure the coolant tank is full, being careful not to overfill.
3. Inspect the cutting blade for defects, replace if necessary.
4. Leave the down feed handle in the “UP” position to reduce unnecessary wear
on the return spring.
5. Check the splash guards, and verify the emergency stop switch is functioning
properly.
Weekly:
1. Do a thorough cleaning of the machine, including the coolant tank and filter.
2. Clean and grease the vise.
3. Clean the outer and inner blade flanges.
Monthly:
1. Ensure that all fasteners are tight.
2. Inspect all of the guards and ensure they are in good condition.
3. Grease the saw head pivot shaft.
Twice a year:
1. Change the gear box oil.
CHANGING THE GEAR bOX OIL
1. With the saw in the “DOWN” position, remove the oil plug (A) Fig.28 with a
10mm hex. key. This will drain the oil from the gear box. Reinstall the oil plug
once the oil has been completely drained.
2. With the saw in the “UP” position, loosen the two hex. nuts (A) Fig.29, and
remove the downfeed handle (B) from the machine. This will allow access to the
filling hole (A) Fig.30.
3. The gear box has a 0.25L capacity. Use 460 grade gear oil. Fill gearbox through
the filling hole (A) Fig.30, the oil gauge (B) should show about ¾ full. When the
appropriate amount of oil has been added, reinstall the downfeed handle.
