Steps
1. If you have more than one HAB, connect them using the HAB-to-HAB communication
cable. Please see the HAB user manual for details.
a.If you have a mixture of HAB versions in your battery bank, make the newest ver
sion HAB the Leader.
b.If your mixture of HABs includes one or more V4, along with older versions, you’ll
need a special communication cable to connect the V4 with the older HABs.
Please contact your distributor for the cable.
2. insert the provided RS45 Cable
1) It matters which side of the cable is plugged into the battery and inverter respectively (follow
the labels on the cable itself if using the included factory cable).
2) The yellow cable included with the Sol-Ark is fine stranded and difficult to crimp. If crimping a
custom RJ45 connector, you may want to find an alternate cable to modify.
3) If providing your own RJ45 cable and routing alongside the battery power conductors, it is
best (but not required ) to use a shielded cable.
Notes:
You will need to use the HAB iT app to set the HAB to the Sol-Ark communication protocol. Con-
nect your HAB to the HAB iT app and use it to connect your HAB to the internet to make sure it is
updated to the most recent firmware.
1. Following the instructions in the HAB manual, turn on your batteries.
2. If you have not done so already, download and install the HAB iT mobile app to the mobile
device you will use for setting up your HAB.
a.Following the instructions in the HAB iT mobile app manual, use the mobile
device to connect the Leader HAB to the internet and update it to the latest
firmware version.
b.Follow the instructions below to set the Leader HAB to the correct HAB to
inverter communication protocol.
i.On the “Basic” tab of the HAB iT there is a circle containing 3 dots
in the upper right hand corner. Tap that circle to open the HAB iT
