U. Dynamic 5th Wheel (Continued)
3. Adjusting the Spring Force
a. Remove the Dynamic 5th wheel assembly from the chair. Refer to step 1 in this section for
directions.
b. Loosen the 6mm screw located on the underside of the assembly (Fig. 24).
c. To decrease the spring rate, slide the screw and elastomer away from the caster fork
assembly. To increase the spring rate, slide the screw and elastomer towards the caster
fork assembly.
d. Retighten the 6mm screw (Fig. 24). Do not overtighten.
4. Changing or Replacing the Elastomer
The Clik has been provided with two elastomers for the Dynamic 5th wheel. The harder one is
black and the softer one is yellow.
a. Remove the Dynamic 5th wheel assembly from the chair. Refer to step 1 of this section for
directions.
b. Remove the 6mm screw from one side of Dynamic 5th wheel arm (Fig. 25:A) using two
4mm Allen wrenches.
c. Using an Allen wrench, push the threaded barrel (Fig. 25:B) out of the arm assembly.
d. Slide the tubular receiver (Fig. 25:C) out of the assembly.
e. Remove the 6mm screw located on the underside of the assembly. This will release the
elastomer (Fig. 25:D). Remove the elastomer and set aside.
f. Insert the new elastomer into the opening on the arm assembly with the threaded insert
facing down towards the slot, aligned with the slot in the arm.
g. Thread the 6mm screw and the washer (Fig. 25:D) through the slot and into the threaded
insert in the elastomer.
h. Retighten the 6mm screw (Fig. 25:D). Do not overtighten.
i. Reinsert the tubular receiver (Fig. 25:C) into the arm. Ensure the flat arm of the tubular
receiver is placed over the top of the elastomer.
j. Align the holes on the arm and the tubular receiver to insert the threaded barrel (Fig. 25:B)
and the 6mm screw (Fig. 25:A).
k. Tighten the 6mm screws (Fig. 25:A) using two 4mm Allen wrenches.
